President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s Istanbul Maritime Shipyard spoke at the commissioning ceremony of TCG Ufuk, the first domestic and national intelligence ship.
“We expect our defense industry exports to exceed 4 billion dollars by the end of this year”, President Erdogan said, and stated that efforts to develop both launch systems and satellite systems in the space field are continuing.

The ship, which has the distinction of being Turkey’s first intelligence ship; It is known to have a full length of 99.5 meters, a maximum width of 14.4 meters, a displacement of 2 thousand 400 tons and a draft of 3.6 meters and the platform required for a 10-ton helicopter.. ASELSAN produced the command control, electronic systems and test training system equipment of the Ufuk Corvette.
Ufuk Corvette is also Turkey’s first intelligence ship. The corvette will be able to instantly detect threats to national security by sailing continuously for 45 days.
