“Dotted-up” emails from cybercriminals

Internet scammers are now sending more personalized emails, according to Cisco report!

Leading data networks Cisco revealed the changing strategies of internet scammers in its new security report. According to the report, cybercriminals attack the organizations they target with spam e-mails. It fell from $1.1 billion in 2010 to $500 million in June 2011.
· The number of daily spam emails fell from 300 billion in June 2010 to 40 billion in June 2011.
· There is an increase in private attacks: Fraud attempts called spearphishing have tripled. The report was compiled by Cisco Security Intelligence Operations (SIO), the world’s largest cloud-based security ecosystem.
