Sony Ericsson will enter 2009 with a new mid-range Cyber-shot phone. Codenamed “Kate”, the C510 model is a bar type phone, but it will have a 3.2 megapixel camera and a user-friendly interface with face and smile recognition features found in Sony Ericsson’s new camera phones.
Automatic Focusing and basic flash support, it will be possible to take quality photos even in sub-ideal conditions. The C510 is expected to go on sale in early February. But will this phone be passed quietly, or will it make a good debut at the Mobile World Congress event in February? It is not clear yet…
Besides, two more phones are said to be on the way after the C510. Codenamed “Filippa”, the model will line up with the C510 and include a number of upgraded features in the same mold, such as a 5 mp camera and Xenon flash. The other model named “Frances” will be released after the “Filippa” model and will have a sliding cover design. It is said that this model will also have features such as image stabilization and GPS.
