What is the Difference Between Intel Core i5 and Intel Core i7?

Intel Core i5 and Intel Core i7 processors are the most common for those who will buy a new desktop or laptop computer.. There are of course differences between Intel Core i5 and Core i7. Here are the differences between these two processors;

Price

Simply put, Core i5 equipped systems are cheaper than Core i7 equipped PCs. Core i7 processors have more capacity than Core i5 CPUs. Provides better performance for multitasking, multimedia tasks and high-end games.

In general, Core i7 processors need larger cache to help them perform tasks faster.. Calculations are almost instantaneous when you change a number in spreadsheets. Turbo Boost

Basically, it allows the processor to run faster than the base clock speed when only one or two processor cores are required.. Core i5 and Core i7 processors both use Turbo Boost, and Core i7 processors achieve higher clock speeds.

Hyper Threading

Intel Hyper-Threading means that the operating system and applications are connected to one processor. uses multithreading technology to make it think it has more cores than it actually does. Hyper-Threading technology is used to improve performance in multi-threaded tasks. The simplest case of multi-threading is a user running several programs at the same time.

All Core i7 CPUs use Hyper-Threading, so an eight-core processor can handle 16 streams, a quad-core can have eight streams, and dual core can have quad stream. A Core i5 uses Hyper-Threading to make a dual-core CPU look like a quad-core one, but a Core i5 processor with four true cores doesn’t use Hyper-Threading.

Intel Core X Series

Introduced in 2017, Intel’s Core X processor family is aimed at high-performance users such as extreme gamers and video editors. The Core i9-7980XE Extreme Edition ($1,999) processor, for example, has 18 cores and can handle 36 threads simultaneously.. More reasonably priced X-Series processors include the quad-core Core i5-7640X ($242) and the octa-core Core i7-7820X ($599).
